The weather is a bit whacko here. Looming dark clouds threatening to unleash torrents only for the sun to shine hot. I dont know what happened to the prophesied El nino rains because we are having normal seasonal rains. Infact, a bit less than usual.

Have you heard about the secret safe holding some of Kenya's pre and post colonial national secrets?
The safe is at a simple, old house at the Githunguri District headquarters which belonged to founding President Jomo Kenyatta.

The safe was carried to the house in 1946 when Kenyatta became an administrator at Kenya Teachers College, Githunguri.

According to a former caretaker of the house, it has never been opened since the former President was arrested at the height of the liberation struggle in 1952.

Nobody knows where the key is.

For long it was rumoured among freedom fighters and political leaders that Kenyatta’s locked safe may contain vital documents like original maps that mark out Kenya’s boundaries.

Did you know that Githunguri district is the largest producer of milk in east and central Africa? We produce enough milk to supply to over four large dairy companies and is home to the Githunguri Dairy Farmers Co-operative Society, the makers of the Fresha brand.
Githunguri district is one of Kenya's new districts. The new District Commissioner is Mr. Henry Wafula, youngish, hip and tech-savvy.
